Summer is our favorite time of the year for a number of reasons. The beautiful warm weather. Grilling hot dogs and hamburgers. But perhaps our favorite thing about summer is baseball! Few things are more American than a nice game of baseball, our favorite sport. Since we have such a passion for baseball, we here at Amesbury Chevrolet thought we would channel that passion into doing something helpful for our community. That is why Amesbury Chevrolet is a proud sponsor of the Amesbury Little League!
The Amesbury Little League is an organization that helps youth from around the Amesbury area participate in the sport of baseball. The League is composed of various levels of players based upon their experience, from those just starting out to majors. No matter what level the players are on, they have a lot of fun playing baseball!
Not only are they learning how to play baseball, but these players are also learning important lessons about teamwork and cooperation. That is why the staff at Amesbury Chevrolet is so passionate about sponsoring the Amesbury Little League: to help the youth in our community learn and grow.
No matter how old the players you are rooting for are, we hope that you enjoy the baseball season here in Amesbury.
Amesbury, Massachusetts, is a city that is proud of is long and established history. However, Amesbury becomes even more passionate about its history around the Fourth of July. Independence Day is not only a big deal for the people of Amesbury, but the New England area as a whole. In fact, the Fourth of July marks a celebration in Amesbury known as Amesbury Days.
Amesbury Days is an extended festival celebrating the history of the city of Amesbury. 2016 marks the 117th anniversary of this beloved event. This year, Amesbury Days kicked off on June 23 and will appropriately commence on July 4.
A block party on June 23 marked the kickoff event of Amesbury Days, where community members in the Amesbury area gathered to celebrate the town we all call home. On June 25, Amesbury celebrated the citywide favorite fruit during the Strawberry Festival. One of our favorite events, the car show, took place the next day on June 26.
However, the real showstopper of the festival is the magnificent fireworks display. This year, the fireworks show will take place on Sunday, July 3. The show will also be accompanied by music.
Show your support and passion for the city of Amesbury by participating in this year’s Amesbury Days! What’s your favorite part?
Since 2005, Chevrolet has been a major sponsor for Major League Baseball. Now, Chevrolet & Major League Baseball (MLB) are continuing their partnership as Chevrolet will once again be the Official Vehicle Partner and also becomes the Official Automotive Sponsor for MLB.
In addition, Chevrolet will be supporting the USA Baseball’s Play Ball initiative. This program, which is entering its second season, encourages participation in baseball and softball programs aimed at kids of all ages.
“Providing young people with more access and opportunities to play baseball is an important priority for us,” said Noah Garden, MLB Executive Vice President, Business, in a statement. “Chevy’s commitment to youth baseball aligns perfectly with the goals of Play Ball. This renewal displays an ever-increasing commitment to our partnership and to youth baseball players all over the country.”
The Play Ball program goes hand in hand with Chevy’s own Chevy Youth Baseball program, which it started in 2006. Participating youth baseball programs get equipment, sponsorship checks, fundraising opportunities, and unique Major and Minor League Baseball experiences and clinics. Over the past 10 years, Chevrolet & Major League Baseball have donated more than 90,000 equipment kits, renovated 9,400 parks, and helped more than 5.2 million kids enjoy baseball.
